The dwarves found kingdoms of their own. The whispers of Gaia are heard for the first time.
While Avalon was conquering Gaia, she pushed other races out of their homes. While most races were forced north or east, the dwarves retreated into the mountains. Here, they started digging into the ground, carving out mines and fortresses. While the elves would eventually become adept at communing with Gaia, the dwarves were the first to hear her whispers. Deep in the earth, at the roots of the world, a small group of Dwarven miners heard the voice of Gaia and felt her love. Listening to her whispers, they found purpose not for themselves, but for their entire race. These seven dwarves each set about creating a grand hold each, a shrine to Gaia as much as a home to dwarves. All across the world, the fleeing dwarves were drawn to the seven mountain shrines, hoping that they, too could feel the love and purpose the first seven had. In admiration and reverence, these first seven dwarves were crowned Mountain Kings. The might of the Dwarven kingdoms grew, with little outside communication, content to labor in reverence to Mother Gaia. That was until the stars started falling.
