Yea, hello my name is Aveen Aoujax i am a traveler from afar. I am a practitioner of the arcane and researcher of the planes. this is my faithful companion Waschbär. he is very friendly but make sure you keep your biscuits hidden. scars from torture can be seen fresh from the last year or so. across his back and chest there are lash scars as well.

a medium length scraggily ginger beard with bushy eye brows. blue eyes with wrinkles on his brow from stress. crows feet and a receding hairline also mark his deceptive younger age.

Apparel & Accessories

most of the clothes he wears are ripped in places and ragged. He wears a once black coat with matching pants and shirt that have faded to a dirty grey colour from weather, sun and a lack of proper washing. His dark boots are in similar state of disrepair and raggedness. There is a large metal knights shield on his back with faded eldritch markings, as well as a brown travelers pack bulging with nic-nacs and miscellaneous items. you can also see vials of various liquids and pouches of spell components distributed across his body on and bandoliers. Most notable however are the clean bandages that cover his hands, arms, and presumably whole body that can be seen underneath his baggy clothes.

Personal history

Aveen was born to his loving parents Harold and Gwen Aoujax in the trade gate in the outer lands. (the trade gate holds the portal that leads to the plane of Bytopia). Aveen at a young age was fairly care free he learned about commerce and fighting from his father who worked as a mercenary for Meridath a local gem merchant. but his magical skills came from his mother who worked as a clerk and acolyte for a wizard by the name of Milo Thorngage who was in the court of the trade gates ruling counsel.

During Aveens late teen years he spent some time working with both his parents. trying the mercenary life with his father as well as working as a part time researcher for milo. it was during this time Aveens father Harold taught him about justice and loyalty. Trying to bestow upon him the lessons that his father had passed down to him. Also during his time as a researcher for Milo. Aveen met a woman named Elanor Laveli who worked as a cook aboard Milos spelljammer. Elinor and Aveen had frequent interactions and eventually formed a relationship.

As young adulthood Aveen and Elinor got married. Aveen left the mercenary work and decided to become a full time researcher for Milo so he could stay home with his pregnant wife. during this time he learned about the multiverse as well as finding a deep interest in the abjuration magics that Milo used to protect himself and others. Aveen persuaded Milo into teaching him and taking him on as an apprentice. Near the time that Aveen was taking his studies to the next level his and Elinors's son was born Garen.
When Aveen reached his 27th year in the trade gate he decided that it was his new dream to become a shop owner and join the prestigious ranks of the trade gate merchant guild. in order to accomplish this Aveen took a loan from a Dabus (outerlands race) mortenvol, who was the envoy of the lady of pain. The terms of the arrangement were that the money was to only be used for the new business and that weekly payments were to be made to pay the debt back. Aveen happily agreed and purchased a pre-existing structure to run his new business out of. He had some of the money left over which he used to secretly purchase a empty plot of land on the outskirts of town to build a house on. unfortunately the business was not going well. between his dues to the merchant guild, local protection fees, and loan payments. Aveen soon ran out of money and was unable to pay anyone. This angered many of his business partners and in particular Mortenvol who decided to make an example out of Aveen and send him to a dungeon in Sigil the capital of the outerlands.
During his time in the Sigil dungeon he was tortured and interrogated by the dabus for any information that they could use in any way. It was almost like something they did to pass time for them. It is here he learned the ways of inscribing magic formulas in tattoos and ink grafting. He did not have access to any of the spells he learned from milo but he remembered some of the basics and inscribed them on his hands and forearms. He was eventually sentenced to eternal exile for being unable to pay his debts. the Lady of pain personally performed the ritual and banished him to his presumed death.
However whether by a cruel cosmic chance, mercy of a god, or plot of the Lady of Pain. Aveen was not sent to some inhospitable layer of the abyss or some demi plane of torture. but into the comparably beautiful lands of Aenumariil. He was dropped into the middle of the Religious mecha, Shield Haven. Upon arrival he landed in a temple to a god he had never heard of on a alter. this was taken as a hostile act and the local clerics called the guard and arrested him. he was sentenced to a year in prison and sent to the town jail.
In the Shield Haven prison Aveen tried to learn as much as he could about this new land, however most people assumed he was just some crazy traveler from Anistaria. Nothing made sense to Aveen here, everything he knew was useless here and made him sound insane. so he decided to form an alias and lie about where he was from and what had happened to him. Over time people slowly began to trust him more and he developed good relations with some of the guards and prisoners.
Eventually there was a confrontation as is expected in prisons. A violent criminal named Aaron Lerovar found out about Aveens magical capabilities and started to black mail Aveen threatening to tell the guards if Aveen didn't provide him with his loyalty and services. Having no choice but to comply Aveen become somewhat of an enforcer for Aaron and used his magic to intimidate others for Aarons gain. One day however Aveen was brought into the office of the warden Velsa Dentreena. She offered Aveen a plea deal for informing on Aaron. all she needed was enough to get him executed. Aaveen agreed and over the next month kept records of Aarons crimes and dealings and unrooted a plot to free Aaron and murder a rival of his. This was enough for Velsa who freed Aveen a week later.
Aveen has now taken up the task of becoming an adventurer to find a way home. He is hopeful that through his involvement with the "keg breakers" *tm* that he may one day see his family again.
