Tieflings

The Tieflings of Evenfall can trace their heritage back to humans. Humans who bumped up against the infernal in their exploration of magic would often come into contact with demons. These humans are said to have committed a sin that will carry through their tainted bloodlines forever. After The Shattering the rumors that Tieflings are another way the gods punished humans for their arrogance began to grow. The other races often view Tieflings with suspicion, assuming that their infernal heritage has left a mark on their personality and morality, not just their appearance. The reality though is that Tieflings' bloodline doesn't affect their personality to any great degree, rather than it is the stigma associated with them that often leaves a mark on most Tieflings. Some lean into the stereotype, but others are virtuous trying to remove the negative view on their race. Most are just very aware of how people respond to them and often develop a talent for overcoming prejudice through charm or intimidation.
