Aarakocra

The Aarakocra of Evenfall are fairly new to the world of Aellorim. Legend has it that they were pulled from their home on the Elemental Plane of Air through a rift during The Shattering and chose to make their homes amongst the high peaks of the Rhokarn's Spine mountain range. They've spent the last 3000 years being mostly solitary, only leaving their mountain homes to engage in trade with some of the nearby races. Tabaxi merchants have noted more and more of the younger Aarakocra seeming eager to explore all that Aellorim has to offer. The Tabaxi say these young ones have been blessed by The Cat Lord with feline curiosity and have taken to calling them "Griffons", after the great eagle-lion monsters that like to make their homes in the foothills of Rhokarn's Spine.
Aarakocra in Aellorim mostly look like birds of prey, specifically raptors like falcons, eagles, and hawks. Some Aarakocra have been noted to resemble vultures, owls, or other large birds.
