Aelentis

Nestled in the Slo'Tal Kingdom, the once gem of a city has been corrupted by the neglect of its rulers. The sins of man and like have been allowed to run rampant. Laws and regulations blatantly disregarded. The mages, kept accountable else where, have taken the slack given them and hanged the kingdom with it. Darkness has befallen the landscape, barely contained with its borders. The only reason for this is the innate mortal fear of repercussion from someone stronger, and each citizen of the empire knows to fear the Emperor. This darkness is the wild experiments of unchecked mages, the dead rise, the spirits are restless, and demons make themselves at home. Amidst this we have Aelentis, a city without supplies, the countryside too dangerous for normal caravans mean only a selected few can make supply runs. A city without leadership, the crown barely pays attention so lesser nobles, generals, and merchant princes via for power. A city without history, the once majestic arts district re-purposed for the factorum destroying decades of works. A city without graves, people die every day and they must go somewhere, they flood the river and worse. A city without a sky, the smoke of the factorum chokes out the light of day and stars of night.
