Hello everyone. I got the inspiration to create a world in D&D 5e from my work as a Dungeon Master. My group and me (Greetings from germany/we just got into the game) just finished the Campaign "The Lost Mine of Phandelver" and i want explore the game a lot more. But i don't really wanna use the existing worlds like Faerun or others there might be. I want to create my own world for our group, in which we can do whatever we want. I'm of course getting inspiration from already established worlds but i want to add my flavor to it and create new things also. As i was creating a character (A dwarven wizard) i thought of a place of origin for him. Where was he born and what is the place like now. My first idea was the region of the Icehill Mountains, so i started my world with that place.
I'll keep working on this world and create more bioms, gods and so on, for all the things you might think of. But it is in german, so i hope your browser can translate it.
