Pseudodragons

Psudodragons are significantly smaller dragon like species that typically have no legs. These mini dragons are lower on the rung of Dragon kind than even Dragonborns and Kobolds, too many dragons throughout Aegimius.

Anatomy

These small dragons could be considered more like wyrms than actual dragons, since they lack any legs. Like other dragons these creatures do have the ability to procreate with other small creatures to create hybrids like the Drabbits that can be found throughout the Shadow lands and Delesia.

Psudodragons are small in stature, topping out at about 18 inches tall and roughly 3 feet long. The average wingspan for an adult psudodragon is about 24 inches long.

Unique Talents/Abilities

Like the larger dragons in Aegimius, pseudodragons have breath abilities unique to their various types. In addition to breathing, or in some cases vomiting up these syrups or liquids, these dragons also transmute, for lack of a better word, food and dragon nip into solid versions of these items.

Chocolate, cheese, maple, and mint psudodragons are very common in kitchens throughout Milleadh. Chocolate and mint are useful with popular deserts such as Dragon Nip Brownies or mint cookies, while maple is used frequently as syrup for various breakfasts.

Candy, and licorice dragons are popular in confectionaries, as they help speed up the candy making process.

Glitter dragons are appreciated by tailors and other master artisans, along with most of the children (much to the chagrin of many a parent).

Distribution

Baby psudodragons can be purchased in speciality pet shops throughout the world. These shops are generally run by dragons, and their ilk as psudodragons do not imprint on other dragons.

On very rare occasions a psudodragon can be found in the wild. No know geographic position has been identified as home to any subspecies of the Pseudodragons. It has been noted that they are attracted to other creatures of magical abilities like fae or shadow rabbits, and baby griffins.

Eggs

For the right price you can often find pseudodragon eggs on the black market or occasionally being sold by an uninformed candy merchant. Selling unhatched pseudodragon eggs is illegal on Milleadh, since the eggs are such a pure form of the material, they were hunted to near extinction with many baby pseudodragons killed before they could be hatched.

Diseases

While pseudodragons are magical creatures and are generally resistant to many diseases that normal pets would come down with, they have been known to get sick from to much of any one type of food, or if given more Dragon Nip then is recommended in a given day.

It is recommended to not give a pseudragon more than 2 tsp of dragon nip a day.

Conservation

Due to dragon eggs being such a pure form of their maerial the pseudodragon's were hunted the world over to almost near extinction. As such the pseudodragons are one of the many dragons that are currently under the protection of The Anvil. Hatcheries are closely guarded by anvil agents, and operated by various dragons. While there are several known hatcheries throughout the world, most are kept secret to ensure pseudodragon eggs are able to hatch appropriately.
