Sir Irkas II

Military advisor to Ser Mathias Ares, Earl of Harlequin.

History

Son of the legendary Paladin Irkas the First, “The Blinding Light”. He who travelled with the druid Karnakio and achieved fame and respect as a folk hero, source of countless ballads, muse for crude wooden statues and a few fine stone ones when funds allowed and the role all boys vied to be when waging war with sticks and stones.   Irkas II has had fewer adventures, fewer chances to live up to his father’s name. This has beenequally his greatest motivator and deepest seed of despair – for how could he ever accomplish what hisfather had? He doesn’t believe in his heart that he ever will (for as you too must have heard of the greatexploits of Irkas) who could really?   Still, he strives, joining the Army of the West to seek his glory and begin earning the respect thathe felt was the pinnacle of greatness one could achieve in life. He succeeded in becoming a great soldier, was selected by the captains of Andor’s army to be fast-tracked up the command ladder. This meant additional schooling in logistics and supply. Not the most glorified cadre in the great fight, but understandably essential to the functioning of an army and Irkas II saw that. He excelled at that. So much so that he was awarded great honors, including being promoted to be the senior advisor to the Ser Mathias Ares, Earl of Harlequin – his post when the earth erupted and fire fell from the sky!
