Murandir, the Black Blade

Murandir, Blade of Duty. One of the seven Swords of Avelorn, ancient weapons bestowed with the power to protect to denizens of Aedrus.

History

The Swords of Avelorn were crafted by the high dwarves centuries ago, as weapons to protect the realm. As the human and elven civilizations rose to prominence, the dwarves would eventually recede into the nearby mountains.   In the Kingdom era, it was first wielded by Colran Marketh, known as Arath'Marin, who used it until his death at the Fall of Ironpass.   It lay dormant in the mountains for years, until Polaris Te'Laetheriel discovered it and began to wield it for herself.
Without fail the bound will draw his sword and finish his task or be finished when his mind is finally seared with duty’s desire.
