The Way of Roses
The Way of Roses is halfway between a guild and a religion. It is a group of pacifists dedicated to protecting the most vulnerable Terrans. Composed mostly of healers, the organization dedicates itself to helping victims of natural disasters, violence, plagues, and poverty. Every member takes a vow of pacifism; while most members recognize the necessity of self-defense, they themselves will not practice it. If any member commits violence, with the exception of non-lethal force needed to protect a charge, that member will be expelled.
The Way operates sanctuaries across Terra. Though sanctuaries support each other however they can, ultimately the size of these sanctuaries are dictated by the support it receives from the local community. No sanctuary, however, will turn away someone in need, even if it means the healers go hungry that night. Sanctuaries occasionally come into conflict with local authorities or governments for sheltering unpopular residents, or for speaking out against policies that needlessly endanger citizens. However, the aid provided by healers of the Way means that sanctuaries are generally popular.
Some members of the Way wander across Terra to provide services, occasionally stopping at sanctuaries. They provide aid to the most remote communities and serve as first responders for large-scale disasters. These healers may join adventuring parties, providing healing in exchange for protection.
Many, but not all, members of the Way of Roses regard it as their mission from the Creator to tend to Terra and its residents. This viewpoint is especially popular among healers, since the light affinity that underlies their gift is widely regarded as a gift from the Creator. The leaders of the Way, however, have refrained from making this viewpoint an official tenet.
Structure
The Way has a board of seven members, the Red Roses, who coordinate the sanctuaries, arbiter disputes within the Way, and release official policies. The sanctuaries have a Pink Rose who acts as the head. Other active members are White Roses, deceased members are honored as Black Roses.

History
The Way of Roses was founded long ago by a healer named Blue Rose. She worked to create a circle of healers who would support each other in helping their fellow Terrans and promoting nonviolent solutions to Terra's problems. Support for the Way of Roses exploded when she was killed in a mugging, and the Way of Roses has maintained its mission to the present day.
