Blue Rose

Blue Rose was born in a small village off the Charybdan coast. Little is known about her early life other than that her parents were farmers. Blue Rose became a healer in the city of Otteg, known at the time for its rampant corruption and lawlessness. She and a group of likeminded healers began working to improve conditions in the city by leading relief efforts for the impoverished lower class. The movement was met with measured success; while no one opposed the humanitarian aid, not many were willing to donate their time or money to it, and most assumed the movement would pass. The pacifistic ideals espoused by Blue Rose in particular were seen as impractically idealistic. But when Blue Rose was killed by a mugger who didn't believe she had no money, the movement received an outpouring of generosity. The others in the group named it the Way of Roses to honor their friend, and took steps to ensure the Way would continue. One such step was publishing her private journal, in which she beautifully explained her ideals as they were expressed in the uphill battle she undertook to help as many people as she could. The Way of Roses went on to become massively influential, and many healers today have followed in the footsteps of Blue Rose.
