Adventure Brunch #46 - 9/11/20 - I can't see!

General Summary

The heroes made the long trip back home. Along the way, they learned the ichor-covered creature they carried back from the Eldergleam was Lord Wildren, a noble in the Spring Court, and that he could only be healed by the powers of the "purification domain". They also learned that there is a very powerful witch named Hanje, who really wants a date with the dude that lives by Zura's tower. Zura set them up for a romantic picnic and gave Ima Faoche the Eldergleam sap, and the group continued on to the Circle of the Sun temple and left Lord Wildren there to heal--promising to return in a week to witness his dip in the sun pool and to fight the monsters of his blight.   Back at Veriscali, Panthro slinked off and the group restocked on the things they would need for another adventure--this time to go help Shakkax clear a stronghold near the Primordial Swamp on behalf of Effendi Makeda. They were joined by Croxia, the gold dragonborn bard who part-times at Cyrus' healing house.   The heroes made it out to what looked like a long-abandoned dwarven stronghold... or was it abandoned? There was a path down to a huge entrance, with two huge faces carved on either side (and oil barrels on top of the ridge, perhaps to drop down...) and the front entrance was covered in branches, which turned into a host of vine monsters that and attacked after mutliple attempts to clear and burn them. They were pretty easily overcome by our experienced party. Feeling pretty good about themselves until they stepped through the archway and found themselves in a huge compound covered in strands of purple living membrane. The air was musty reeking of rot, decay, and stinging to the eyes. The buildings were made of finely carved stone, and there was a huge though shattered, standing stone in the middle of the collection of buildings.   The group began to go through the buildings one by one. The first turned out to be an empty stable. The second building seemed to be a mechanical storage maybe barracks? There were worktables and 9 stands for clockworks to connect. Upon entering the clockwork sentries animated and tired to skewer our heroes!  After dispathcing the clockworks and after busting in to another building a little mushroom creature ran at Zura and Shakkax; it was easily dispatched but let off spores upon it's death. These spores coming from the dead mushroom monster caused mushrooms caps to grow in Zura and Shakkax's eye lids blind them over the course of a few minutes!   The group decided to leave the area, and the feeling they were being watched, and regroup back outside for the night.
