ADVENTURE BRUNCH #38 -- MAY 17, 2020

General Summary

RECAP FROM FURBOLGS: The Hermit Theodas took back Glonnir, so the next time anyone wants to visit him (or help clear the bear caves) they will need to take the long way. There is a great forest in between the leyline and the eldergleem... Zura traded the Kegger Brewmaster a hooded lantern for a pouch containing beehive husk, dried slaughter fish egg, and charred rat hide, which can be used to make a Potion of Resist Poison (gain resistance to poison for 1 minute per level). The Timbermaw furbolg used to trade with the Spring Court in the Valley of the Eldergleam, with the Fire Elves in the Fire Spiral, and with the Sun Elves in the Familiar Sanctuary--all on the other side of their bear caves. Only their chief can open the caves. The caves were closed when 2 or 3 Famorians corrupted the entire area and brought vile minions. Famorians are 12-16 feet tall and mostly stick to the Underdark and Shadowfell. They are not normally seen in daylight (they are also very ugly) and are sensitive to sunlight. They are dark, evil, and very magical creatures. They live for the subjugation of others, and especially hate elves and fey. BACK OUT OF THE FOREST: Zura is down in the dumps. She's feeling disempowered, like her inner light is leaving her! She's also having dreams about sitting in the throne chair which she just unlocked in her Tower Sanctum, so she went and did just that. Lo and behold, she had a vision quest and was shown the Sunmaker weakening. Zura must return at least three of his vestiitures to him (and was shown roughly where each is hidden) and quickly! Cyrus received a letter, telling him that the one who stole the dragon tablet is a a man named Kano who plans to further defile the ancient dragon burial grounds and take over one of Pelairem's sanctuaries. Zura remembers Kano's face well, and his many wyverns who left her and Cyrus face down ass up in the road after stealing from them, and is determined to help Cyrus utterly destroy him in revenge. Cyrus knew this was an adventure especially suited for the dragonborn, and quickly gathered Paskan The Red and Croxia to help. Shakkax was all in as well. Kano is part of the Cult of the Dragon, and has necromancy powers. He has raised 12 shadow wyverns the heroes will need to defeat, but he is still four days away from his destination so perhaps there is still time... The dragonborn went to visit the chieftain's longhouse, and learned that if they succeeded in this quest and brought back any of Pelairem's magic words, they would be able to enhance their dragonbreath! The dragonborn regrouped with Cryus, Jingles, and Zura, who lead them to Iben D'Cannith's mage tower to pick up some more Healing Bonbons (per usual) and ask him to teleport them to the Nereid Knight. Zura thought to ask for her aid in helping the Champion of the Spring Court. Though some ended up very wet after the teleportation, the group was dropped of at the Nereid Knight in a place days ahead of schedule! She also gave Zura the Decanter of Endless Water to fulfill an old debt, and information on her daughter, Eilinora, who is Polerum's companion. In the future, the portal disc will be left at the bottom of a pond by the known village of Spring elves called "Hymdal's Clan of Vallenwood." The adventurers started heading towards their somewhat still-unknown destination, when Jingles became aware of three blood-red glowing lights in his vision and everyone knew they had to help him with this sudden departure of the plan. They traveled 6 hours until they came upon a cave in a small hill, with canine-like footprints around and a smell of tabaxi and blood. The group debated about strategy against werewolves, and ended up rushing in to fight some goblin-like creatures and their worgs. The group was victorious, though sadly too late to save the tabaxi whose skin was being tanned in the back of the cave, but exacted revenge for it as well as the Sun Elf whose head was also found. Everyone agreed to stay the night in the cave, and head back to the trail and set up defenses against Kano in the morning--still 2 days ahead of schedule!
