ADVENTURE BRUNCH #37 -- MAY 2, 2020

General Summary

EPILOGUE FROM LAST SESSION: Triumphant after defeating the undead horde, Jingles and Zura took a closer look at the mystery necromancer's back cave office, and found some freaky shit. However, none if it gave them clues to find Meowth or Glonnir.   Jingles, Zura, and the three paladins went to look for their missing mini companions--especially since everyone needed Glonnir to help them leave the woods. They followed a trail past strange encampments with tents built into tree roots, another cave carved like a bear (3rd hour into walk), until finally reaching a wall of thorns erupting from the ground up into the sky in a dome. At the center was an archway with green mist coming from it. Jingles tied rope around his waist and disappeared inside...   He found a strange tree-looking humanoid figure inside, cradling sleeping Glonnir and Meowth in its arms. He introduced himself as Sage Susanar, one of the two sages in the Valley of Two Sages. He has not been outside of his glade in a very long time because of all the undead... maybe Jingles will visit him again.   With Glonnir, the group made it safely and quickly back to Zura's Tower, and noticed two strange people in trench coats cutting up the (un)dead bodies and putting them into a coffin, and crows everywhere.   REGULAR SESSION: Zura, Jingles, Hadija, and Cyrus coincidentally all met up in Veriscali at Cyrus' healing house. Glonnir met Fua and Zura caught everyone up on her and Jingles' adventures against the undead. Cyrus had heard of "Shamesh", the name the mysterious necromancer called out for, as a dead titan; a primordial ancient being that had died. The weird skull Jingles had taken from the altar was a Symbol of Orcus, the Demon Lord of Hatred and Undeath.   They also learned through Hadija's translation, the Glonnir had been trying to lead them to Theodas ("The Hermit"), who is the other sage of the "Two Sages." Glonnir himself was actually a gift from Susanar to Theodas, back when they were still friends. Theodus is beyond the sleeping mist--a common Spring Court tactic, created by defiling a moon well--so the group first came up with a plan to deal with that.   They went to Ibn D'Cannith's mage tower and picked up some liquid latex-like paint, which would keep the mist from touching their skin and making them sleep. They also picked up a few Masks of Breathing, and Healing Bonbons of course. Feeling ready, the group picked up Shakkax and Aslan and headed back to Zura's Tower!   After an uncomfortable night's lust-filled longing for the absolutely gorgeous Lia (and Zura protecting her from Jingles and Hadija), the adventuring group headed to the woods. Glonnir transported them deeper into the forest where Shakax, Aslam, and Jingles stayed as sentries (with Zura's dynamite ready) by where the sleepy green mist started. Zura, Hadija, and Cyrus were already covered with something like liquid latex, and went in with Glonnir. As they went, they passed sleeping undead (which Zura decapitated as she passed) and furbolgs (which the group dragged to the side of the road, away from the undead).   Coming to the end of a small ravine, they noticed another bear cave. Another bear cave was in the distance. They headed towards that and a large tree with the Mark of the Woodsman. (Zura's inner eye opened at each of these two bear caves!) At the tree there was a large pool, and a stone shoved into a gap in the roots, and once the group got closer a large wooden face appeared--it was Theodas!   Cyrus magically removed the water from the pool, effectively ending the corruption and mist effect. Hadija picked up the "Pillar of Nature's Power" which was at the bottom, and turned out to be a construct made by Theodas. He gave the Pillar to the group in thanks.   The adventurers met the wakened furbolgs of the Timbermaw Clan, and learned about what had been happening in the tunnels and when the bear caves were closed. If only Pelairem, Champion of the Green, could come and help clear out the area...
