ADVENTURE BRUNCH #27 -- SEPTEMBER 29, 2019
General Summary
Today Panthro went wandering with a strange pride of creatures. Panthro believes their names where Jingles, Methty, Myev, Taurue, and Xarris, everyone was new to Panthro. We met when they interrupted Panthro's petting himself time at Sybil's Tavern. They promised me a shiny which I have yet to see. I may have to start a campaign of terrorizing them all until I get it. I may start with pooping in their shoes.
We went to "The Oasis". It is nice there. The grass is tasty. I may stay there for a while. We were lead by Xarris who seems to be the Mane of the area straight to a set of towers with a bridge. It seemed to be a defensive outpost of a sort. They tried to convince Panthro to go in by himself and assassinate the lookouts. Not above assassination but they wanted to stay a mile away. Panthro would have been isolated and vulnerable, so Panthro said hellz to the no to that plan. A shiny isn't worth Panthro's life.
So many a plan was discussed. What plans Panthro doesn't know; he was hunting and eating butterflies. Stealth skills must be practiced! So we waited for dark and snuck up on the towers. What proceeded was the melee of melees. Xarris summoned a cloud of Darkness from which we fought them. Panthro hid behind Taurue who is big enough to block out the sun and snuck attacked them all! Muahahaha! Jingles, Taurue, Xarris, and Panthro whittled them down until they ran away. Not sure what the others did. Panthro thinks maybe we should be payed double!
A chase ensued, and Panthro was excited. A few skirmishes, and Methty did something curious and disgusting... Panthro will make himself forget what he saw. Anyway, we ran out of a deep cave system into a valley and at the center of the valley was a 3+ story fortress. We thought we could walk up on it and continue to slaughter but as soon as we were in range, longbow arrows rained down upon us hitting us all multiple times. We retreated to live another day and come back with a better plan than taking many arrows to the face. On the way out Methty asked me to pick the lock on a chest and last thing Panthro remembers is smelling his fur burning and pain...
We collected various equipment, including crossbows, 5 heads, 4 hearts for some reason--Panthro doesn't know. Today's pride walked away with 158 xp each.
