ADVENTURE BRUNCH #14 & 15 -- FEBRUARY 17 & 24, 2019
General Summary
Ri found herself all alone, without her adventurer friends, so decided to catch up on some personal errands. She went shopping in the tiefling black market in Verascali, escorted around the treacherous area by Saza, who kept the (demonic?!) urchin children at bay... and who creepily wouldn't step into the light... After shopping they went to a bar to unwind--and for Ri to mull over her discovery of how much gold is needed to file a land writ--and met Yucria, an experienced tiefling fighter from the City of Brass slave pits.
A few weeks later, Ri decided to do some exploring around the newly named Sunwell Keep, and hired Yucria as a bodyguard. Xarrus joined them, and they waded around the recently-cleansed-from-blight hot springs. They found a few stone humanoids, who looked to be an ancient elven race; they seemingly had been turned to stone while fighting something, or running from it.
The three crossed the river, and found a fourth stone elf man atop a mound. They spent the night there, and spotted a suspicious owl, which disappeared when a shadowy black goat with glowing red eyes and huge horns coalesced next to Ri's bag and started dragging it away. When Ri tried to get it back, the goat blinked and appeared behind her and rammed her face down-ass up into the dirt. Ri did not give up, however her compatriots were no help, and she continually got butt-rammed into the dirt until the goat got away with all of her things. It was not a good night.
The next day, the trio walked near an abandoned town, which was filled with evil creatures fighting each other. A zombie-like dog chased them to nearby mound with an elf statue on top. There, they found Winter Elves! They fought the elves and their thralls, until the surviving Winter Elves pulled a lever and ran away... Ri, Yucria, and Xarrus heard something moving, lots of things dying horribly, and ran away too!
From the first mound they had spent the night at, they saw a scary, mummy-like female creature devouring all the monsters in the town before wandering off southward. The suspicious owl appeared again and transformed into a little girl-looking fey creature named Chaney. She confirmed the Winter Elves were the ones who released the evil fey sorceress Vysandra, and said the group should look to make alliances with the Springs Elves and others to defeat her again.
The group went back to the abandoned village and underground bunker, and found a broken portal travel system.
So now an ancient evil is back in the world.... OH NO!
