Traditions
Shas traditions align with perseverance, cunning, entertainment and wealth.Perseverance
From the sandy dunes of Dhal-Amok, to the Jalasa Mountains, the continent of Sahun brings heat and death. Lack of potable water and extreme heat, makes this continent a difficult place to live in. The rural Shas people rely magic and ingenuity to survive in the harsh terrain of their homeland.Cunning
Strength and Intelligence take a backseat in Shas culture. You won't find anyone boasting about how strong they are or how many books they've read. But what you'll see, is people all over engaged in games of cunning, such as Ka-tul, a game similar to chess. It is customary to haggle with a Shas trader, whoever ends up with the better end of the deal is considered in higher regard. Frauds and forgers are rampant in Shas culture, although the laws ban such crimes, the people revere anyone who is able to get the better of someone.Entertainment
Shas work hard and play hard. Their entertainment ranges from quiet festivals to bloody gladiatorial combat. Some of their entertainment is not looked on favorably by other cultures, due to their abuse of dwarves, halflings, gnomes and slaves. They are also known for their promiscuity and taboo sexuality.Wealth
Shas people tend to look upon wealth and entrepreneurship with favor. Many Shas are merchants and slavers. The Shas believe that people must be self sufficient and able to conquer their own obstacles. They revere the self made rich and are attracted to jewerly and fine clothing.Religions
