History

Sodorian currency comes from the Eskorian currency.

Trading in ancient times was difficult. Wars and rivalries often brought peril to traders. Some of these issues would start when a trader from one kingdom would not accept the coin from another kingdom because it had that kingdom's king's face on it.
To fix this, a group of wealthy traders petitioned the kings and lords of the lands to change the coins to portray nature. This effectively created the first Eskorian currency, which was carried through the creation of The Kingdom of Sodoria.

Copper Roots

This coin is the lowest denomination and easily found throughout the land. It is made of copper and depicts a root on one side and has a rough texture on the opposite side. Part of the reason for the texture is to easily feel the difference between a rough golden painted copper and a smooth golden coin.

Silver Moons

This coin is the second from the lowest denomination and very common. It is made of silver and depicts a half moon on one side and a full moon on the opposite side.

Golden Suns

This coin is the second from the highest denomination and is the most sought after coin in the land. It is made of gold and depicts a sun on one side and has very smooth texture on the opposite side.

Astrals

This coin is the highest denomination and is very rarely found in circulation. It is made of platinum and depicts a star on one side and the ancient Eskorian word for Astral on the other side. The are smaller and thinner than the other coins, therefore are easier to lose. These coins are mostly found in banks or with nobles. Traders find these coins difficult to organize and keep safe.
This coin derived its name from a misconception in ancient times that the coins were made of astral plane rocks. This lie had been perpetrated by a greedy trader who claimed that they were worth 100 times their value.
