Rite of Forgiveness
The Rite of Forgiveness is a ceremony cunducted by the Knights of Clemency. In the trial the accused is dubjected to a fight to the death where one of the two participents must die. The Knight of Clemency leading the rite is never outmatched and, if they decide that the accused should be forgiven, let themselves be stricken down and, though they will suffer excrutiating pain, will be revived by Poentia. Such an ordeal rarely leaves the accused unblemished.
History
The first Rite of Forgiveness was done by Blanca Tulipa. Her Husband was killed in an accident at a construction site. The court found him goulty, but Blanca Tulipa demanded that she be allowed to kill the man. The only way that that could be allowed at that point was a trial by combat. During the trial by combat Blanca Tulipa, at that point already an old woman, could not kill the young man, and instead let herself be struck down. She did not die though, as Poentia refused to let her fall.
Execution
The person that requested the rite, also known as the enochos, would be confined to a cell and, if necessary be instructed in the ways of combat. At least three days before the trial, a member of the Knights of Clemency would arrive. They would seclude themselves in a room and meditate. There, any person would be permitted to enter and speak of the enochos, where they may say what they know and think of him, though they must tell the truth.
Components and tools
The standard weapon used by a Knights of Clemency was a two handed sword. Additionally they were equipped with a Orb of truth.
