Zelis Amaria

Zelis Amaria, the "Scourge of the West" was the founder of the famed mercenary group "Chromati Mors", a group dedicated to hunting down the Chromatic Dragons. In his younger years, Zelis Amaria was born as a Leonin to a single mother, and was quickly introduced to a life devoted to Meitir, the God of the Hunt. Zelis spend his first 20 years secluded in a mountain temple in the northwest, and studied the way of the blade to fight for his god. Soon, war found him and his temple, deep from the Infernal Abyss came Axiom the Deceiver and his army, leading the charge against the free world to take it for themselves. At age 24, Zelis woke up to find his home destroyed by fiends, and so he grabbed whatever was close to him and was forced to sneak away in the night.   After escaping, Zelis managed to board a wagon of refugees that was heading to Nargadrax and he found himself in good company, bonding with the people he traveled with. He arrived in Nargadrax and spent a year in mourning for his friend's and family's deaths, but he held on to his beliefs and continued to uphold the worship of Meitir. At 27 he enlisted in the Quasillian military as a scout, and was responsible for identifying the weaknesses of the Mithril Bastion as the two nations went to war which lasted for 5 years, all of which Zelis served for. After being promoted many times for his valour and bravery, he soon became known to the Quasillian's as the "Untouchable Hero" and as the "Scourge of the West" to the Mithril Bastion. After the war ended, Zelis served 1 more year as a watchman and ranger for the Empire, but was soon discharged with a 30,000 gold bonus for all of his military career. Zelis spent a year living in luxury, but was sought out to help in the the war against Axiom. He accepted out of necessity, and resumed his life as a scout once more. He played a key role in the defeat of the Crimson Legion, and was even commended by the god Zorn for his achievements. Zelis fought in the war until it ended, and soon formed Chromati Mors to track down and destroy any Chromatic Dragons that would enter Adar.   At age 239, Zelis retired from adventuring, and after amassing a fortune rivalling that of the Solendro family, he instructed the remaining members of Chromati Mors to construct him a tomb carved into the side of the mountain which was once the home of his temple. After the tomb was constructed, Zelis instructed his peers to disband the organisation, stating that "the time for petty hunts is at and end", before descending into his tomb, never to be seen again.
