M28 Gladius Assault Rifle
ORIGINS:
The Gladius series assault rifle was first constructed in the immediate aftermath of the remnant wars between the newly formed Actium Federation, and the nationist remnants of The United States of America, The Indian Federation, and The Chinese People's Republic. The Gladius was inspired by the Mark 10 Khanda AR used by the Indian Army during the war. It was much more effective and reliable compared to the standard weapons Actium troopers had been issued, which were prone to jamming and had difficulties functioning in the harsh deserts. By the end of the war, nearly half of the Army had switched over to using the captured Khanda Rifles. Seeing their effectiveness, inventors and long-time rivals Ellen Black and Henry Marsh began working on the rifle in a joint venture, eventually creating the Gladius Mark 1. The success of this venture lead to them merging their two companies into BlackMarsh Armory. The Rifle quickly became a favorite of the troops and its variants have remained as Actium's choice rifle for over a hundred years now.
It saw action in the 1st and 2nd tribal wars, dozens of pirate campaigns, the Dern war, and remains in service today.
STRENGTHS:
The Gladius is a strong, reliable, and good all-rounder weapon. It does not excel much in any one field, while also not falling short in any either.
WEAKNESS:
The rifle has exhibited malfunctions when exposed to extreme colds such as jamming, misfires, and issues regarding the fire rate setting. These have been mostly fixed since the Dern war, but still remain somewhat in the most extreme conditions.

Significance
The Gladius Rifle was put into service shortly after the end of the remnant wars on Actium, and has since then become synonymous with the Actium military. It is the standard issue weapon for all Actium Riflemen.
