Mount Alvastor

Intro

Towering 35 kilometers in the Katorian Mountain Range, the massive Mount Alvastor is the undisputed tallest mountain on the planet Oddissius. The mountain is the lifeblood of the Sarradian River and is the holiest site of the Valorian Religion.  The massive snow-capped mountain was formed nearly 64 million years ago, before the Shattering. Thus, it still retains its Ethereal properties from before the Shattering, forming a type 1a Nexus. The Nexus that lies at the 5/6 up the mountain is called the Alvastos Nexus, and it causes the Alvastor Jet Stream and the Infostos Storms that lies above the Nexus.

Alvastos Nexus

To talk about the mountain is to talk about the one thing that makes scaling the mountain so difficult. The Alvastos Nexus is the 3rd most powerful Nexus on Oddissius and is the most powerful that lies above sea level. It is a classical type of Nexus, with 10 orbitals and 4 Mahos rings. It outputs nearly 16 million kAEU, putting it comfortably in 3rd place among Nexuses on Oddissius, but also solidly in 3rd since the Black Vortex Nexus outputs 24 million kAEU, and the Grand Vios Nexus outputs 31 kAEU.

Alvastor Jet Stream

A massive stream of near-supersonic air propelled by the type 3 Nexian Energy Release coming from the Alvastos Nexus. It flows from west to east, following the rotation of the planet. It disturbs the Vostos and Halatian Oceans causing any tropical cyclones to be destroyed if they come up the western or eastern coast of the continent but causes them to move eastward toward the already dangerous continent of Knicovia, shredding its eastern shores to the point of uninhabitability. 

Infostos Storm

The storms that inhabit the peak of Mount Alvastor, produced by the type 2 Nexian Energy Release from the Alvastos Nexus. Winds in these Aethereally powered supercells can reach 1,100 kph. Each day, 10 inches of rainfall fall from the 3-7 Infostos Storms that inhabit the peak. These storms are so dangerous that only 1 expedition has reached the peak of Mount Alvastos and returned.
