Acaedia

Created by

First came the Gods, who shaped the world and the Planes as they saw fit. Then came the Astari, the First Children, to whom the Gods gave dominion over Acaedia. Afterwards the other races appeared, such as Elves and Humans, and the Astari guided them into the unkown world.   But among the Gods, some grew jealous, of the mortals and of the Astari. Fueled by jealousy the rebel God, Sür-Vataar, led an army against the Gods and the Astari, aided by rebel celestial beings and elementals. He was joined by the Goddess Inari, weaver of the Planes and creator of the Neitherworld, whom he tricked into following him. In his hatred Sür-Vataar slew every last Astari, leaving the mortal races without a guide in the world.   Asthur, God of Wisdom, confronted Vataar, but the rebel God was blinded by his bloodlust and killed Asthur where he stood. Outraged by this crime, Sol, sister of Asthur, used her power to make Vataar repent for his deeds. Faced with his crimes, the rebel God was horrified, and as an act of penance, gave up his body to cleanse his former army of their sins, taking them upon himself. Vataar's body became the Hellscape of Ammkur, an the sins he bore became the first Demons, to be imprisoned inside for all eternity. Inari, wife of Asthur, filled with rage and sorrow, grew the Neitherworld until it enveloped everything, separating the planes of the Gods from Acaedia, limiting their power to act within the mortal realm.   After the Astari were gone, came the Age of Mortals, and for centuries the races of Acaedia flourished. The two contients of Thanar and Atravi are home to Elves, Humans, Dwarves, Orcs, Gnomes and various Beast races. Now, in the year 116 A.K.C, the world is still recovering after a devastating demonic invasion.
