Abyssal

Abyssal is gritty, dark Lovecraftian horror in a medieval setting. Themes of cosmic horror, and mortal insignificance. Abyssal's world hosts a plethora of complex characters and beings. Dark creatures roam this world, some incomprehensible to those without the arcane knowledge.   The first part of Abyssal revolves around Calimar,and the Northren Realms. Calimar is a large and once prosperous country in the middle of a crisis of faith. To the east of Calimar lays Aesernia, a complex and scheming country stirring in civil war. Above Calimar and west of Aesernia stands the rich country of Vargues. Vargues many cities boast lavish castles and powerful noblemen.   Abyssal focuses on a young girl names Lyria, who gets caught in the affairs of warring gods and mortals alike. One of the themes Abyssal deals with is gray morality: good people will do very bad things, and supposedly terrible people will do seemingly kind things.   Orcs and Elves populate Abyssal as well, in smaller quantities than the humans. Human subjugation of the non-human races will be focused on.
