Alish Peninsula

The Alish peninsula is province is the south-western Griffin Kingdom.
It is known as a mighty naval power and has one of the most impressive fleets in the world. Since the land itself is mostly rocky cliffs and dense forests, the population has gravitated towards the sea as it's their primary source of food. They have developed and affinity for sailing which is perfectly supported by all the lumber available in the region. Thanks to the combination of their sailing skills an their opportune location, they have become a hub for trade with Darashi and Anthalas resulting in a booming economy.

Culture

The Alish have never been much for traditions, they constantly look forwards towards progress and improvement, sometimes dangerously so. Due to their position as a trade hub, they have had an unusually large exposure distant cultures which have lead to them developing a very open and accepting look on people being different. This includes a general acceptance of queer people.
Due to difficulties of growing crops on the peninsula, the Alish have developed a cuisine primarily consisting of fish and seafood. Potatoes and onions being the main crops in the region has made them a staple in many dishes. The Alish are not really known for their food an the rich go out of their way to avoid the more traditional cuisine.
The fashion on the peninsulas is heavily inspired by maritime clothes they are never far from the sea and many with or related to ships. Not unlike the style of pirates but generally more well kept and refined.
