Iuran

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

The spires of Avlon is the crib of the Code of Laws, a set of texts many other nations have used as a blueprint for their own laws. The people also put much stock into contracts and record keeping, for which they are much desired by other nations. The Iuran law-scribes are paid handsomely to live in places like the River Thrones and in Capitol.   But the people are not only specialized in the creation of law-text but have also become masters of scroll-making and history keeping. While their form of history keeping is very different from the Singers of Baccaous' way they do have vast libraries filled to the brim with records of times long gone.

Common Etiquette rules

In Avlon and Iuris as a whole much weight is put in etiquette and customs, with formal dress codes and set ways of doing most things, that keep the everyday life for its people happy and content. These customs guide all of the inhabitants of the kingdom to make sure everyone has a right to prosper and is of use to the crown family.

Common Dress code

Most formal wear is in the colors of black and white, with the higher one stands in society the more white one will be clad in. With the exception of the state scribe, who while still holding a high position compared to most citizens are to be clad in all black.

Art & Architecture

The styles used in Avlon are mostly precise and majestic, the Spires of Heaven for instance are pure white rods reaching towards the skies that house the financial and hereditary elite. The White Library is another of these wonders, the building contains what amount to the canonical history of the world for the last three thousand years.   When it comes to art, the precision of fine lines and realism rule the locals, many mathematical patterns adorn the walls of those with money and resources to spare.
