Illyan Kingdoms

The Illyan Kingdoms, also known as New Karkesia, is a powerful empire ruled by High King Galaenor. It is held together by dozens of mortal dragons who obey the royal family and their dragon lords. The empire has a strong centralized government in the tropical and equatorial central regions, but weaker infrastructure in the more remote areas. The empire controls northern Madfall, the Volcairn Peninsula and a small northern continent in the temperate zone, and engages in trade with the neighboring cultures and the Hakaneid Empire. They possess rich natural resources including coal, iron ore, timber, and gold, and have a conscripted class of mutant soldiers called centurions. They are rivals with the Country of Sheele to the south.

Structure

Each province has its own unique culture, customs, and traditions, but all are united under the rule of the King and the powerful dragonlords that serve him. The kingdom is known for its powerful military, which is made up of both human soldiers and powerful dragon allies. The society is heavily hierarchical, with the ruling class and dragonlords at the top and commoners at the bottom. The culture places a strong emphasis on honor, duty, and loyalty to the crown. Religion is also an important aspect of Illyan culture, with the worship of the dragon gods being a central aspect of life. The Illyan people are fiercely proud of their kingdom and its history, and they fiercely defend it against any perceived threats.
