Amon's Brief of Dwarves

Depending on how one looks at it the dwarves are relatively new race to the world. They have only been active for under a millennia on this world and the tale of creation is an interesting one. To summarize here briefly; when a vast majority of the giants through hubris, greed and hatred decided to reject Plantaen's teachings as weak and failing them there were those few who remained true. This small group was exiled to the western coast. Later it was decided they would be killed. Before the last breath was had it is said the last priestess gave a prayer that all the faithful yet born, robbed by former kin, be granted a new chance. In time the bodies of the slaughtered faded and the dwarves appeared. Not sure how accurate this is but every Dwarf historian, priest, bartender and urchin swears by it. They are now the main followers of Plantaen. They also find themselves as the primary adversary to the giants. This unfortunate situation has forced them to advance at an astonishing rate compared to most. It was they who developed the method to forge mithril and orchilium. They were the first to develop the root cellar and the preservative jars. They perhaps most important of all though were the first to make black powder. They now sit quite strangely as the trade partners to the Imperial Drakonin and Civielen one of the nations prime to be conquered by the Imperials. This is made more complicated by the facts that the dwarves are not completed united.
