Risen Celestials

General Celestials

These Celestials are worshipped all throughout Aaon and have no specific location where they are worshipped.

Selene, Celestial of the Moon (CN)

Selene is said to be the first Risen Celestial, and also the most influential one. She is described as a beautiful Elven woman with a soft silver glow around her.

She actively takes part in people's lives, and she is typically known as a trickster. However, she cares for those she sees as her children (those who worship her) and is quick to anger if prodded. She is known to pick a group of people up and uses them to enact something that she wants; this could range from anything to defeating a mighty evil to rescuing a puppy stuck in a well. Selene doesn't have a favoured type of follower as she wants to be loved by all those who wish to love her. This creates a wide and diverse range of followers that worships Selene. She also is patron to good, aligned werewolves, her Champion is even a Golden furred werewolf by the name of Gah Ri.

She is also usually accompanied by the Celestial Mathis who had saved her during the Celestial War. She asks her followers to leave their weapon in the light of a full moon to bless their weapon.

Mathis, Lord of Luck (CN)

It is said that here were three powers at one point circling around the universe; Law which Anihunt represents, Chaos which is Na-Rahan's domain and lastly Fate that led Anihunt to the book itself. Out of all the powers Fate is said to be the most powerful as Fate itself created a Celestial without the assistance of the Book of Anihunt. Fate became personified and created Mathis, the embodiment of Fate. When Mathis first stepped into the Tenth Realm he was greeted with some confusion as none of the other Celestials were expecting another Absolute Celestial. He explored the Tenth Realm, taking in the nature and learning that he maintained Fate. He couldn't choose between sides, only doing what Fate would allow. Through his travels he came across the Risen Celestial Selene, Celestial of the Moon.

For a while they travelled together across the sky and they fell in love; but then ADarkus came, and the Celestial war began. Selene was kidnapped and Mathis, unable to tip the balance to help her went to the Valar for help. His divinity was sliced off him and he went through many challenges to rescue Selene for ADarkus' iron tower. As he rescued her however Mathis succumbed to his wounds. The Celestials decided to grant him his divinity, making him a Risen Celestial so that Selene and Mathis could remain together always.

Faramund, Celestial of Battle (LN) The origin of Faramund is not known as like Selene, Faramud was Risen sometime before the Celestial War as he fought in the early battles. Yet many agree that he was once a mighty warrior of the Arthuris that gained divinity after a series of challenges given to him by the Absolute Celestials. The challenges were never mentioned which makes one think that this might have been a secret trial for Faramund. He takes the form of a heavily armoured warrior, his face hidden behind a golden helm, and is most associated with knighthood post Celestial War.

He contributed much during the Celestial War and was instrumental for his tactics and insight against an attacking force. Due to his skill and tactics he was never captured by Na-Rahan or ADarkus making him a valuable target for the enemy. Faramund used this to his advantage, giving the mortals many opportunities to fight against ADarkus. After the War, Faramund was given a citadel to train heroes tested by the Mother to train warriors as a final barrier between ADarkus/Na-Rahan and Aaon. This citadel became known as Warriors Heart.

Jack, the Pale Jester (CN)

Jack is an interesting creature; dressed as a black and white court jester, his smile seems a little bit too wide and his voice a little bit too sweet. His role within this world is to be the representation of Chaos. There are many stories regarding Jack's creation with many changing with each retelling and some say that Jack himself is just a myth. Who can tell? Some say that he was cursed with as he was treated badly at one point and so his original state has been twisted and deformed from what it once was. Others suggest that he is actually a Celestial, one that has been corrupted by Na-Rahan, but not controlled by him. A few suggest that he is a Risen Celestial, someone who fully encapsulates the idea of Chaos. Domains Delirium, Destruction, Indulgence, Nightmares, Trickery. Divine Sigils Sacred Weapon is a dagger. Zenotaran the Silver (NG)

Zenotaran (Ze-no-tar-an) the Silver is one of the two first native dragons within Aaon. Zenotaran is a female serpentine dragon with beautiful silver scales. She does not possess wings but does have strands of hair behind her horns. She was created through the union of the Absolute Celestials Aero and Zitia as a monument to their bond. Due to this Zenotaran has power over the sky, able to control weather and storms. She is known to summon bolts of lightning from the sky as well as her breath weapon. Most of the time she can be found flying around the Tenth Realm keeping an eye on the barriers and making sure that Aaon is safe. Her mate (and sibling) is Xanatharax and it is said that they were the first to notice a gap in the barrier allowing Na-Rahan to enter the Tenth Realm. Domains Wyrmkin, Lightning, Cold, Air, Might. Like his mate, he does not possess wings, but does seem to have whiskers between his nostrols and mouth. Unlike Zenotaran, Xanatharax holds power over fire and heat, able to create flaming hurricanes and erupting volcanoes. This he does not do (often) but it is encouraged for those living near volcanoes to provide an offering to Xanatharax as he is quick to anger but easy to placate. The two dragons gained their divinity by being the first to respond against Na-Rahan's breach. Fighting to try to slow him down alongside the other Celestials. Domains Wrymkin, Fire, Might, Air, Destruction. Sigils Holy Weapon is claws/spiked gauntlet. Sacred symbol is a gold yin and she has no sacred creature. Tenets No tenets.

Kelara, Celestial of Revenge and Retribution

Kelara, also known as the Spider Queen, is a risen Celestial who rose during the Celestial War. Known as a brilliant and ruthless strategist; it is said that when she was mortal her mother and father were taken in a raid by ADarkus along with her small village. Instead of collapsing into anguish she decided to take revenge against ADarkus but she didn't charge up to his tower to demand mortal combat. Instead, she plotted and planned his defeat. She created a small gathering around her known as her Fangs that would covertly disrupt ADarkus' plans.   Some worshippers claim that it was Kalara who had suggested to the Valar to use the Book of Anihunt to both rescue the inhabitants from the previous realms and to strengthen their own power against ADarkus. It is also suggested that she and her "Fangs" infiltrated the Iron Tower of ADarkus to help deactivate the magical ring of molten rock and fire and allowing Alyssia to gain her victory. Due to her efforts the Mother and the Lord of Earth had granted her divinity.   Her worshippers can be found all over Aaon; many spies, assassins and prostitutes hold her as their patron. Kalara's "Fangs" have become their own organization, striking where the Spider Queen requires and all under the cover of secrecy.   Domains   Divine Sigils   Tenets

ADarkus

ADarkus, once a Valar corrupted with the idea to end conflict. A nearly impossible task, but one that requires godlike power. He believed that war would eventually engulf the races of Aaon and sought a way to stop that from happening. The only way to attempt such a goal was through the powerful artifact The Book of Anihunt. Knowing a sacrifice is needed, the Valar attempted to discover a way to use the Book without having to make a personal sacrifice as the cost might be too large than the Valar could make. The Valar created a ritual that could summon a page of The Book of Anihunt but had to figure out a way to use the book without evoking the sacrifice. The Valar thought they could devise a way to bounce the sacrifice onto the shadow of Na-Rahan, so the Valar created a small, tiny chip in the protective sphere that guards the Tenth Realm, allowing Na-Rahan to enter. Using all of their power, the Valar attempted to channel Na-Rahan into the page of the Book.   This did not work well for the Valar.   From inside the mind of the Valar Na-Rahan corrupted seduced the Valar into becoming a disciple of the Dark god. From there, the Valar wrote in the page that the chip he had created would become a gap and that they would become a Celestial. The sacrifice in order to write such a thing into the Book was one that would lose their compassion, kindness and even identity. Naming themselves ADarkus, they began to covertly research experiments intended for the upcoming Celestial War. ADarkus began creating the army in which the war on Aaon would be waged with. As a Valar, ADarkus would the complete trust from the sentient creatures of Aaon, which they used for their advantage. Taking many under the claim of "health checks" or "study" ADarkus took a large amount of people and began his twisted experiments resulting in the fierce Orc, the snarling Olcan and many other bestial creatures. At this point as ADarkus' power was solidified, they released their army into the world of Aaon and made war against those living in it.   ADarkus' army attacked the Grand Kingdom of Authuris, the first step in covering he world in darkness. As Na-Rahan fought against the Celestials, separating the Valar and isolating them for ADarkus. It was the Valar that first defended the people of Arthuris, yet they were not ready for the cruelty and effectiveness of ADarkus' beast races. Furthermore, ADarkus took a rather unique stance when fighting the Valar, attempting to capture more than destroy as ADarkus wished to continue his experiments, pushing the form and mind of the Valar.   ADarkus captured many Valar and performed terrible experiments on them, learning how they work and attempting to turn them into weapons for Na-Rahan's fight against the Celestials. Many died due to the extreme nature of the experiments, but ADarkus succeeded in creating terrible weapons and even creating a new type of 'divine' creature known as the 12 Demon Lords. Using his new weapons, ADarkus tore the Grand Kingdom apart, shattering it and isolating the people of Aaon. Forcing them to fight uniformed armies as small groups. This was almost the end for the continent as ADarkus started to and his armies eastward to deal with the countries and nations through Aaon. ADarkus was confident in their victory over Arthuris.   Yet, a rebellion was beginning to take place in the southeastern part of the continent. A figure known as ALightus was gaining small, but influential victories within the area. Even beginning to unite many to fight against ADarkus. This was Alyssia ALightus, the first Paladin of Anihunt and gifted with a weapon blessed by the Absolute Celestials. Some of ADarkus' beast races also rebelled and joined forces with the ALightus; the Olcan, proud and noble warriors were offered land where they could settle, as well as independence. The last of the remaining Valar discovered the ritual that ADarkus performed many years prior, allowing them to summon a single page from the Book of Anihunt. They used their power to summon portals through time and space; from the nine previous Realms created by Anihunt and destroyed by Na-Rahan. Many came though into the Tenth Realm and had a second chance to fight the evil of Na-Rahan.   ADarkus at first didn't believe how bad a position they were in; until large, organized groups began the attack on the settlements and cities ADarkus had taken from the Valar. In many of these battles, Alyssia led the charge. This signaled the defeat of ADarkus' war upon Aaon as soon, the people had surrounded the iron tower that ADarkus had hoped to rule Aaon through. This final battle between ADarkus and Alyssia ALightus marked the end of the War of Celestials. As ADarkus was sealed in living stone by Alyssia, never to escape and trapped in his tower of iron.   Domains   Divine Sigils   Tenets

This story having already been recorded in the Celestial War. Upon her death, Alyssia was given her divinity by Anihunt himself, taking the shape of when she was a middle-aged woman at the height of her powers. She wears full-plate armour and carries her legendary spear, one that many have tried to replicate without any success. It is said that she is the link between the Alightus Paladins and Anihunt, helping them decide upon the best course of action.

After taking divinity Alyssia has become the patron of those who yearn for Protection from lawlessness as well as Justice. She inhabits a realm and leads an army of warriors known as Archons ready to fight ADarkus or Na-Rahan themselves. It is said that Alyssia will be the first to fly into combat to defend the Tenth Realm.

Owl

This Owl is one of the strangest Celestial due to the accidental creation of it. Unlike other Risen Celestial, this Owl was given its divinity in through an accidental event when Mathis was beginning to understand his new power and targeted a tree to practice upon. Unfortunately, there was an Owl sleeping in a hollow and was struck by the divine and chaotic nature of the Luck god. Due to this, the Owl became not just sentient but also divine. As most owls do when disturbed whilst sleeping, the bird took off in a fright and quickly flew away before Mathis realized what had happened.   This makes this Owl the only Celestial to have been given its divine power through an accident. Her main area of concern was liberating those under the cruel thumb of the Wizard Kings to the north of the Arthuris continent. Known as a harsh and unforgiving commander, the laws put in place were fundamentally fair to all those resided under Cao Yi and she gained the attention of the recently freed Asmodus. Risen Celestials are the second type of Celestial that exists within the Tenth Realm. They make up the majority of the Celestials but are not as powerful as the Absolute Celestials. They are created from mortals who have caught the attention of a Celetial and has proven themselevs worthy to earn their divinity. However, only Absolute Celestials have the power to Raise Celestials; therefore Risen Celestials who wish to Raise a mortal must ask an Absolute Celestial and prove that the mortal is worthy.
