Salocin

An unknown man who is the very definition of evil. He seeks to destroy Aslandia for the pain it has caused to him. his name has been around for over 500 years.

/*Rough-cut version. Will be changed in future.   Nicolas Keepeir is the son of the second king of Aslandia. he has lived for thousands of years. The first true king had a son to take his place as heir to the throne with the love of his life. however, she died soon after. The king then went out to create a book of extraordinary power, The Arconium. to do so he must take rip a part of someone's soul in order to create a link between them and the book. this would allow the book to keep updated throughout time. people think that the king still writes in it from beyond the grave. however, if a piece of his soul was in the book then how did he die. you have to have a complete soul in order to die. so, in reality, he sacrificed his own son's mortality for the book. he used Heimdal's Dagger to sever a piece of his son's soul and place it into the book. creating a hole in Niskuns soul. This causes extraordinary mental pain for the boy and throughout his life, he has tried to kill himself however as his soul is not fixed he can never pass on. Niskun has lived his life trying to find a way to free himself from this torment but has never found a way to fix himself so he has lost all hope. hope was the last magical force that protected the hole within him. with an exposed hole, the cold dark despair slowly seeped in creating a cold heart and allowing the seeds of corruption to taint his mind. he then changed his name to Salocin.   He sought out power in order to get back his severed soul and in 1545 Salocin finds the caves of Merenither in which he managed to emerge out of the other side. What he found was the Kerember temple. which no one ever knew existed and at its centre was the Dark crystal and guarding it where the 5 guardians. there was a big battle where the 5 guardians, with their immense power, pushed back Salocin. They warned him that the crystal would destroy the world. however, Salocin was already corrupted by it from all the hatred in his heart. One of the guardians had the sword of bahuenna and used it to attack salocin however it would not work for him as being in salocins hand would cause more war. salocin gained possession of the sword and with the power he had and with a ring with a shard of the light crystal and his new sword he managed to kill them all. The battle demolished the temple and the crystal consumed Salocin fully and attacked the last part of Salocin that had hope. but in doing so it split his soul, due to its fragility. that part of him ran away and escaped with the crystal ring and sword while the rest of his soul sought vengeance and destruction.   The Arconium, after the death of the true king, was given to the new king of Meresia, ??? Iskandervil. who held onto it for a long time before he found out what had happened. he never told anyone the truth of its creation however he did write it in a diary that has been handed down the Meresians kings. The book was kept in a secret place in Iskandor that would only be accessible by a true king of meresia. before the battle of houlbeard's terror, the book was taken out by the king at the time, King Iven Iskandervil. The king left the castle in secret and sought to find the son of the one true king as he would still be alive. he found Salocin who was dressed in a black cloak. The ing gave the book to him and said that it could be used to save him. the small amount of hope gave Salocin the strength to keep on going for a little longer. however, in his attempts to free the part of his soul that was held within the covers, he ended up just doing more damage to his soul. his soul severed in half. one half contained all the remaining good of him and the last remains of his hope and the other half, that still lived within his body, contained corruption, despair and pure hatred. the good part of his soul used the little of its strength to hold back its other half while it looked for help. it found a young girl who had just been born in the city of Lairen, Lortno. The half soul took the form of someone else and walked into the castle. there was a great ceremony in celebration of the newborn princess. the half soul stood by and it looked into the soul of the child and saw light and hope. In seeing such wonder and hope, he gave the one thing that might be able to save him and the rest of Aslandia. he stood up and bore a gift. The Arconium. he spoke out saying that it is the only way to save Aslandia and that the child should have access to it to learn its secrets and to gain its true powers. The king, despite the wishes of the queen, took the book as he saw the truth in the man's eyes.   Alicia grew up to be a great sorcerer and was one of the best for her age. however, she never knew about the book and never saw it as it was hidden from her (until the first book). one day when she goes out on a mission she finds something mysterious and takes a part of it home. the king sees it and hears of the news of a whole village vanishing. he also gets word from Meresia that three of there villages have disappeared. so he decided to finally give Alicia the Arconium to help. she ends up reading the book and over her journey with delfan, she learns lots of new things.*/
