Memory Crystal

A Fortensel Globe, or otherwise known as a Memory Crystal, is a small crystal ball that holds a magic-infused crystal shard that is highly temperamental. However, when created correctly the Fortensel Globe can see all the events happening around it an record it for later use. Hence the name Memory Crystal. It was invented by Alina Fortensel.
A Fortensel Globe can also be linked with another crystal as long as they both share sister crystals. This allows overseas communication or communication between cities. Lortno's advanced armed forces use small versions of these crystals in some of their missions. It allows them to see around corners or in small gaps that they cant fit through.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The magic-infused crystals have a spell that has been cast onto it that creates invisible runes that hold the power to memorise events as magic waves. When you activate the crystal by casting the correct spell, it turns a cloudy pale blue and shows vague images of the event as well as slightly muffled noises. The better the crystals are made the clearer the image and the sound is.
