Chapter 0 - Version - 1 The Small Island
Welcome to Aslandia.     It's a hustling bustling Island not too much different from what you might all know today. However, this small island is long gone, a distant memory and a legend that is only told by those who know the truth of its history. It was a haven in which all those who possess magic could live in peace and harmony without the fear of human interference.   You see, a long long time ago, there were hundreds upon thousands of mages who walked the globe. They lived in peace and prosperity but when humans found their true power they grew weary and they killed thousands without mercy. Even killing those they held dear in hopes that they could abolish witchcraft from the earth. They decimated entire regions and built empires who would seek to kill all those who practised magic.   So in a last-ditch attempt to save them selfs, they all headed away to find a place of refuge in which they could stay and live in the long-awaited peace they all craved. The place they found was 147k mi2 in size, more than enough to regrow their population It was located between Australia and South America. An island later named Aslandia. The island was full of resources with large deposits of iron to the North East held deep in the mountains and large bountiful forests to the South West full of food and wood. It was perfect.   Now I could bore you with all the goings-on in Aslandia but ill save that for another time.   So, now you know the beginnings of the land of Aslandia, you can now enjoy the many tales I have for you and this first one is one hell of a story...
Chapter 1 - Version - 1 The First of Many
Delfan ran down the streets of Iskandor passing through alleyways and ducking under arches. until he reached the main path the street was full of traders and pedestrians, knights and guards. the buildings were made of flat stone bricks stacked on top of one another. rays of light scattered across the ground as clouds drifted across the sky. the large wall could be seen surrounding the whole city protecting the citizens from possible raids. battlements, which were just as tall as the wall itself, were stationed every couple of buildings. Delfan bolted down the wide street his armour clanging as it restrained him. his heart pounded in his chest as his body leapt over dirt and stone. buildings flying past in a blur. carriages swerving from the oncoming soldier. feet aching. arms wrenching. face curling and contorting at the pain. the keep loomed ahead towering on a large mound. not quite tall enough to be classed as a mountain but not quite a hill either. the keep stretched tall into the sky reaching just above the already tall perimeter walls. Its silver reflection glinted in the light. green and yellow accents were scattered under balconies and windows. beams of light shone around the edges as the sun crested just beyond the tower over the North Pacific Ocean.   As Delfan reached the stairs he signed to the guards to let him past and they nodded allowing him passage up the stairs to the keep. There was always a smaller less grand wall protecting the keep due to all the guards surrounding the perimeter. Delfan passed through the gates and into the main courtyard where he ran past the old fountain and down a path that ran down and around the main castle at the end there was a building protruding from the main facade of the castle. it had two guards positioned at either side of the large doors both bearing large swords. Delfan knew what he was doing but he needed to get this info to them as soon as possible. the guards noticed him coming but before they could act Delfan was bursting through the door. suddenly two hands grasped at his shoulders and threw him back out the door the guards looked very displeased. their swords were aimed right at him.   "Hey guys how’s the guarding holding out for ya," said Delfan slowly getting up onto his feet. The left guard spoke gruffly   "Not too bad. so far, we've sent one down to the depths. care to join him?"   "No, I'm fine thanks I think I'll pass just this once" spoke Delfan looking into their sharp blades. "I have important information for the chief of defence,"   "well you'll have to tell us then and we'll let them know." the guard said sneeringly. Delfan looked at the two soldiers and eyed them down. They looked serious and stern.   "Very well then have it your way" Delfan jumped up into the air as the two guards slashed for him. Delfan landed on one knocking them to the ground. he grasped the sword at the unconscious man's side and faced the other guard who was poised for attack.   "I only need to get through that's all I'm asking" whispered Delfan under his breath. The second guard looked at him and swung his sword. Delfan acted quickly and countered the attack sending the guards sword back. the guard swung again this time aiming for the head. Delfan glanced the sword aside and moved to the side of the guard, who was now off balance.   "I'm very sorry but you should have let me in". Delfan bashed the guard with the pummel knocking the guard unconscious. he dropped the sword and ran towards the doors, Barging into the meeting. The room was quite large with stone pillars at each corner. the ceiling was also stone with stone beams and marble decorations. They really like their stone. at the centre stood a rectangular table in which had 7 chairs all occupied by a member of the council. one of which had stood up and was currently glaring at Delfan.   "How dare you enter here amidst a council meeting with the king." the woman turned towards the door and snarled at him.   "How did you get past the guards!" She quickly said "They were explicitly told not to let anyone through"   "I asked them politely and they let me through," said Delfan smiling   "It seems not only are you incompetent, but you are also a liar. Leave at once!" she yelled   "Now, now Chef Elleber. please sit" spoke the king waving at the woman yelling across the room. she sat down still glaring at him.   "A liar, maybe. However, Incompetent. I think not"   "He is a Criminal," she said in confusion.   "And might I remind you so was your nephew who is now one of our best" The king looked over to Delfan and gave him a smile and a wink.   "You must have some news of your travels do you not?". Delfan looked at the king   "I do sire. we ventured past Obly and followed down to Goros Both are fine. However, in Brynsk we heard word of a village that was attacked" Delfan hesitated   "And?" said the king expectantly.   "I am afraid Cupo has also been taken". The room grew silent.   "Any survivors?" asked the king   "None your liege" replied Delfan   "Very well. That will be all, thank you" Said the king   "However," blurted Delfan interrupting one of the other members who was about to speak. All eyes turned back to Delfan.   "There was a crystal-like nothing I've ever seen. I'm not the greatest Mage but I could feel powerful magic emitting from it." one of the Members who are normally very quiet and still suddenly perked up.   "What colour was it," he said intently   "a purple-black" replied Delfan the man turned to the king and said   "I strongly advise we see the soothsayer in Lortno. Your highness. As a matter of urgency"   "Elleber. get Delfan ready to take charge on this mission" said the king   "you think I would entrust him with my men" cried Elleber   "I'm not asking for your men I'm asking for your permission and guidance for Delfan to venture out to Lortno," said the king   "and technically speaking they're not yours they are the king's men."   "and my soldiers," she said spitefully. The king ignored her and continued   "Delfan you will oversee this mission. Go down to Lortno and ask to speak with the princess there. she will take you to the Soothsayer. you will go alone for faster travel."   "Good luck!"   "Thank you, your highness" replied Delfan in excitement. Delfan left the room with his first mission.
