A Galaxy of Guardians

Hundreds of years in the future, humanity has taken its first bold steps into a wide open galaxy. Generations of effort have finally produced the first faster-than-light vessels and the surfaces of Earth's moon and Mars have already been terraformed to support life. The emptiness of the void now beckons, waiting to be filled by billions of humans with visions of utopia in their hearts and minds. Until an even greater discovery is made.   The galaxy is not devoid of sentient life outside of Earth. It is rich with it. Wherever they travel, humanity finds themselves on a collision course with beasts and races the likes of which it once conceived of only in dreams. And though some share much in common with humans, tensions rise and fall as the borders of expansion are drawn.   Some glance at the danger looming in the void and see only opportunity. The openness of space now attracts people from all the corners and levels of society. From businessmen and politicians to soldiers, miners, pirates, technocrats, two-bit criminals and mysterious stellar sorcerers, all now long to find their place in a galaxy that provides the ultimate in opportunity and freedom.   Though rumor has it confrontation is inevitable and freedom is never free, until that time, the void is your oyster. Who will you become?
