The Age Before was a time of unknown length before the creation of the material universe. During this time the physical universe did not exist as we know it but instead this dimension was still a formless plane filled by an endless war. The two sides of this war was the endless hordes of demons, formed and fueled by unchecked chaos, and Ao, the singular deity of order.

The Age of Birth is a era long ago and nearly all forgoten. This was the time where the gods created the mortal races; Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Orks, among countless others. These races were still in their infancy but the progressed quickly and soon were creating technologies, weapons, houses, and communities.

This era was a time of bloodshed, destruction, and death. This was a time of on and off wa between different factions, each devoted to their own god/goddesses. The Age of Blood was the most destructive time known to Ümbria up to this point in time.

The Age of Dragons was a world changing time in which the wounds of The gods War were still fresh all across Ümbria. Ao and Mystra had unleashed dragons apon the world in order to quell the bloodshed of the privious half century. Through creating the dragons (powerful and magical beasts of the sky, earth, and land) Mystra and Ao sought to surpress the wars below by way of giving the mortals a universal enemy to survive against while also thinning the amount of military might each of the warring factions posessed (in terms of man count as well as magical / mechanical weaponry).
