The Mireman

A field researcher from The University of Bradstowe who discovered first hand the condition known as swampskin.

Donnevan O'Yonem (a.k.a. The Mireman)

Donnevan O'Yonem started his path of research as a young human academic from The University of Bradstowe. On the day of The Rupture he happened to be out in the rainy fields of Woldshire in The Isles of Orlend doing some research on water voles and witnessed first hand one of the rifts opening up on a distant hill top.

He ventured through the Rift into the plane of Peior and was transfixed by the wondrous swamp land he had suddenly found himself in. He camped there until his provisions ran out and would have stayed longer if it weren't for the suffering of a strange rash.
When he returned to the university to report his findings he found it laying in ruins - the great library towers of the west wing crumbled into a horrifying pile of stones.
With nowhere to return home to, he decided to resupply and return through the nearby rift. The rash only became worse, and his exposed skin started to take on that of a toad-like texture. It started to appear on his face and around his eyes, all over his hands and arms, and a little bit around his collar and open shirt front.

Whenever he came back to Bradstowe to gather more supplies for his field research, people stared and pointed at him in horror. Small children ran and hid, calling him The "Mire-Man". The name stuck.
He was the first to discover the condition now known as swampskin and is now helping other scientists to develop a cure for this seemingly-permanent skin condition.
To this day he now resides somwhere out in the Ol'Mire plane, probably still researching mire creatures.
