The herders are folk native to the central grasslands region of Caldura and famous for riding belgra. Some are nomadic, and others have settled in farmsteads and small agricultural settlements. The herder folk have a mutual respect for one another and they thrive on trades of meat, leather, raw textile materials, and food crops.   Living in the wildest region of Rengia has made the herders vigilant and resourceful in order to deal with numerous environmental hazards and dangerous wildlife that hunt their livestock and belgras.
The terrain can be difficult to navigate, easy to get lost in, and is home to some of the deadliest species in Melior. Many of the plants are poisonous, and small bites and stings from even the tiniest critters can imobilize most adult folk within a matter of hours.

Liberation of the Calduran grasslands

The herders suffered greatly from the constant threats of The Jolundrian Empire and Melopian Commonwealth trying to claim their land. It had a huge impact on trade and made them fearful due to the spread of propaganda and sown seeds of mistrust.   The conflict concluded shortly after The Rupture when The Borderwrights Society helped the herders to stand their ground and establish new laws and territorial boundaries.   Thanks to the help of the Borderwrights during the liberation of the Calduran grasslands they now have assistance to on construct the physical borders with low-lying walls, fences, and roads, which have subsequently helped connect their trade to nearby rifts for interplanar commerce, as well as connect them to the well established cities in the neighbouring countries to Caldura such as Egwa, home to the capital city of Tempóju.
