Edutar's Left Testicle Myth in Melior | World Anvil

Edutar's Left Testicle

The urban legend of an unfound Piece of Fate from the fallen golden protector.

This article is still a Work In Progress!
During the events of The Rupture the mythical golden protector of Melior, Edutar, was sent by The Creator to close the rifts and prevent chaos from befalling the land.   When closing a large and growing rift, Edutar's golden body was torn apart and his fragmented limbs fell to the world as the Pieces of Fate. Those who recovered these golden relics would become Ordained and absorb a fraction of The Creator's powers.   The majority of fragments have been found, though few are known to be lost (such as the one inside the Cavern of Lost Fate).   Religious folk divided between supporting the new ordained, or seeking to hunt them down for being "thieves" who stole from the guardian.   Amidst the chaos and excitement of treasure hunting, many folks formed adventuring parties to seek out their own piece of fate for one to become ordained (or figure out if several people could become ordained if they touched it at the same time).   It's unclear where the story originated from, but it definitely began over one too many pints of ale in a tavern. Folk from far and wide participate in the hunt for Edutar's Left Testicle - each have their own theories about where it is, how big it is, and what magical powers they'll get once it's theirs.
"Why the left one though?"
"Well, all th'other pieces-been found aint they? This the only one left!"

The "left" play on words in the last section is delightfully awesome.
