Aldgate Prison

The largest high security prison in The Isles of Orlend.

Aldgate prison is the highest security prison in the legal district of Bradstowe, the capital city of The Isles of Orlend.
On Falday 13th Fireturn 295 1A, the notorious escape artist Cole Sollers escaped from his holding. Having previously broken out of no less than three other jail cells in the country, Sollers was waiting for his execution date before sneaking out of Aldgate.
Investigation reports showed a lot of damage to his cell, making it unclear if he had help from the outside. The leading theory is that he entered the cell above his own by climbing a up a chimney, bypassing the metal bars with hand crafted tools made of scrap. Sollers proceeded to break through six further doors and then lowered himself 60 feet down to the ground using his bed clothes.
Sollers was captured for the last time and was finally hanged on Dimday 12th Snowturn 296 1A.

The pillows here are filled with hair from executed or deceased prisoners. All of the bedsheets and blankets are dyed dark brown so you don't notice the heavy staining of grime, blood and dirt.
Depending on their crime, folks don't really last here very long. It's rare for a prisoner to fulfil their sentence and return to the outside world.
The only way out of here is to already have some solid connections with the guards before you were put in, and even then, you'd need someone ready to smuggle you out of the city once you'd "escaped".
