Tigoux

Even as their citadels crumble and their kings languish, the world quivers at the memory of the tigoux empire. The Tigoux were the most formidable kingdom of Iather for several hundred millennia before their empire fell apart, and many modern Iather and Elven cultures were greatly influenced by them.

Culture

Shared customary codes and values

The Tigoux Empire was highly expansionist, and believed that all beings had a role to play in growing and better the empire. Tigoux culture has always been highly militaristic, and aggressive, though at home restraint and patience is encouraged. The worst flaws in Tigoux culture are sloth and cowardice. Decadence was for a long time looked down on, though as the empire grew and the spoils got better, this seems to have faded.   As the Tigoux empire and culture had declined, some of the ideals are better displayed in the cultures that they ruled over. Additionally, modern reformist movements harken back to some elements of this older culture, calling out the 'slothful kings on their decadent thrones'. It appears the Tiguox is headed either for complete collapse and civil war, or to readopting some of their old traits and becoming a much healthier, middle ground culture.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Sharp ears are most often preferred, though floppy ears are becoming more popular, especially for females. A medium nose size is preferred, and large noses are particularly looked down upon. The most popular eye colour has long been green, with amber and brown being close seconds, and blue and gold being least liked. Heterochromia is looked down on and seen as bad luck.   Solid coloured fur is prefered, strips and spots are less so. Black. orange, and calico are most popular. Hair colour is preferred not to match fur colour, white is especially rare and cherished. A healthy tan is generally seen as attractive.    Slit pupils and claws are seen as desirable, tails have come in and out of style. Shapeshifting abilities are highly prized both in the military and society.
