Shal'dranash Felfang, eldest child of Dranash Thunderfang, a family of once-great shamans of the Shadowmoon Clan. Shal'dranash is an elder in terms of orcish age, around 53 years old. Born prior to the corruption of the Orcs, Shal'dranash was indoctrinated from an early age in astronomy, astrology, and shamanism, taught by her father almost daily in Shadowmoon Valley, to watch the stars and study their meaning. Most of her early life was peaceful, living with her family in the main Shadowmoon stronghold, being held in somewhat high regard due to the Shamanistic traditions of the Thunderfang family.
Shal'dranash was twelve years old when Gul'dan first arrived in the Shadowmoon Clan, the first Orcish Warlock. For a young Orc, the manipulation of events to turn the Orcs against the Draenei struck her psychologically, with children and teens being susceptible to manipulation to a certain way of thinking, she grew up the next few years distrusting the Draenei, with her father fully supporting Gul'dan and the new position taken by Ner'zhul.
Shal'dranash however, was too young to join the initial attacks on the Draenei, her father was being taught the way of the Warlock, and abandoned shamanism. It was here that Shal'dranash's shaman training ended, and a few years later, had been artificially aged to sixteen/seventeen years old, in order to be fit for Warlock training and physical combat. At the meeting of the Clans in Oshu'gun, Dranash Thunderfang convinced Shal'dranash to become a Warlock, from which her training had begun, and worked almost daily in the arts of the Felmancy and Demonology.
From her artificial aging, Shal'dranash was of age to participate in the genocidal slaughter of the Draenei, from which she participated eagerly, believing the elders of the Shadowmoon Clan, that the Draenei were plotting against them. She fought with her apprentice-level fel magics at the Battle of Karabor, proving herself to be a growing novice in the arts of Felmancy and Demonology. She accepted the Blood of Mannoroth, becoming bloodthirsty and twice as aggressive as she ever thought, her power growing immensely both in endurance, strength, and willpower with her fel magics.
By the times of the First and Second Wars, Shal'dranash abandoned the Shadowmoon Clan as they distanced themselves from the Old Horde, joining the Shadow Council, and was one of the Warlocks that went through the Dark Portal to fight against Humanity on the Eastern Kingdoms. Participating in the 2nd Siege of Stormwind, she gladly slaughtered innocents as the city burned, searing women and children with ghastly fel magics alongside her father, and new companion Dranash Thunderfang and Makorok Bloodburn. She was spared a fateful end, however, as she by the skin of her teeth, avoided slaughter by Orgrim Doomhammer and the Blackrock Clan; Her father, however, was slaughtered as well as her mother, Shal Thunderfang
With her faith in the Horde shattered, Makorok and Shal'dranash became mates, swearing to serve the Shadow Council and the true masters behind the Horde until their dying dies, swearing again to never trust those outside the circle of Warlocks, and the Shadow Council members that remained. She continued, however, fighting alongside the Clans, even as Makorok joined the Stormreavers and was slain at the Tomb of Sargeras.
