Kwavu Wartotem

About

Physique

It is no secret, that Kwavu is significant, he even stands on the larger side of the Tauren race. His size, however, has its positive sides, and negative sides.   His massive size ensures that he is able to deliver a powerful hit. Earthshattering, some say. His large body, with the thick hide, that the Tauren has, also means he is able to take a lot more damage, before succumbing to defeat. His large horns are strong and able to sustain much before breaking.   However, being this size, also means he is slow. He won't be able to match a quick, small target when it comes to speed. Neither, is he able to avoid quick strikes, thrusts, and most ranged damage due to the speed it comes with.

Childhood

Born as a Twin, he and his brother, Akhou, lived near Thunder Bluff.
Already at birth, was there a clear difference between the two, as Kwavu was large for his age and strong, but Akhou was frail and sickly.   At an early age, was Akhou taken from the family. The mother and father living in grief ever since, which ultimately lead to their early deaths, once Kwavu had managed to complete his trials as a Brave.   Without family, Kwavu dedicated himself to that duty, for the Shu'halo! He roamed Mulgore, The Barrens, and Stonetalon Mountains, fulfilling his duty as Brave of the Tauren.

The collapse of the Barrens.

Kwavu was there as the Barrens were split in two when Deathwing came and destroyed so much of the land that the Tauren Brave protected. At these times, the Alliance moved in, trying to secure land and take advantage of the situation. Kwavu was one among many Braves who fought them, defending Mulgore and the different Tauren posts that were spread through The Barrens.   He saw much death, as the lands grew anew, reborn in the fire but also, twisted, nature attacking those that came too close to the growth. The Horde also came, creating new outposts to defend the now named Northern and Southern Barrens.   In these outposts, those Braves that helped the Horde and managed to survive were called: “Brave of the Horde”.

Aparoshe Stampede

Kwavu, having wandered the broken lands of the Barrens for many, many years, finally took an active choice in wanting a higher purpose. Unknowing to him, it may have been the ancestors that ensured such a change of heart. He became a part of the Aparoshe Stampede, a Warband of the Shu'halo, for the Shu'halo. Aiming to protect the lands of the Tauren, no matter what continent it was on.   Within the Aparoshe Stampede, Kwavu found purpose. Till this moment in time, he had never used a surname, as he did not feel worthy of the one that belonged to his family. With the Aparoshe Stampede, however, he met Typata Wartotem. She is an Ancestor, and with whom Sabelon Bleakfury, the Elder Sakem of the Aparoshe Stampede, were in contact. Kwavu dedicated himself, to championing the name of Typata, and her tribe, the Wartotems, and after a long time, of fighting, winning, and losing, he has bestowed the name of the Wartotems, making him be: Kwavu Wartotem.   Within the Aparoshe Stampede, he also acquired the nickname: "The Mountain" due to his massive size.   Through many victories and defeats, Kwavu was shaped into a great warrior, who became known for his rage. He had however never dreamt of the path he soon was on. The path to becoming, a Spirit Champion.

Spirit Champion

Through communing with the Ancestral Spirits of Mulgore, in a ritual, Kwavu learned that his deceased brother, Akhou, was always with him, protecting him and wanting to further himself, for both their sakes. As it seemed, Akhou had been sickly because of Kwavu, that he had drained the life of the calf in the womb of their mother. So Kwavu was living for both of them.   After this revelation, Kwavu had let go of all his anger, all his hatred, and had become unable to become enraged once more. Because he had finally come to an understanding of why he was, who he was.   But, in all secrecy, something else was afoot. The Ancestors and a pair of Spirit Walkers soon sought out Kwavu, to inform him of the path the Ancestors had carved for him, one where he would require all his skills, but also his faith in the Ancestors of his kin. They began him on his journey, and he followed the path that lay before him. This is the current path he is on now.

The Curse

Kwavu along with the Saurfang Legion were recently in Outlands, the ruins of Draenor. Here, a force of demons had begun gathering and became a large enough threat, that action must be taken immediately.   Many battles were fought, some with the Alliance, and most with the Demons of the Legion. In such a battle, the Aparoshe Stampede along with their allies fought off a Demon Huntmaster. The Huntmaster, was a dangerous foe and Kwavu felt inclined to attempt to tank him. During the fight, the Demon managed to pierce Kwavu's chest with his hand and cast a curse upon Kwavu. A curse of rot, decay, and corruption. The curse laid itself onto a rib, bound to Kwavu through this bone.   The Curse worked immediately against Kwavu, causing him to vomit blackish ichor, which reeked of death and drained his energies. But he fought through, managing to lead the Aparoshe Stampede as well as he could till the end of the fight with the Legion here. After the victory was achieved, finally, Kwavu got time to rest.   He returned home, to Thunder Bluff, and had some menders tend to him. He passed out for days, and when he woke up, he was made aware that they had removed his rib, to remove the curse, and done what they could for his body. The curse had been lifted, but it had taken a toll. Kwavu Wartotem, the Mountain, would now be known as: Kwavu Wartotem, the 'Pale' Mountain, as his fur had gone sickly pale.
