Blood and the Beings who Bleed it

Genetic material – there are a lot of scientists who have come to the outer rim who are interested in the genetic material of the primitives who occupied the planet before it was colonized outwardly by offworlders in the rim itself. The colonizers have difficulty surviving on the icy surface so they avoid going there and try to hire outworlders to deal with the natives and to make sure that the natural gas is available to power their cloud cities. The people of Itsaso actually have a circulatory system which has a very slow blood circulation and a very almost imperceptible heartbeat. Compared to people who evolved in other planets, the present population is very dominantly having no blood disorders. Scientists have found that the Itsasoans are actually able to have their blood frozen and they can manipulate small parts of nature. If an off world-er is going down to the surface than it is recommended that they be given a blood transfusion so that their blood doesn’t freeze when it reaches the planet surface or if the being has any indication to go outside of the sealed pod or shuttles that rim dwellers and off world-ers favor.
Sometimes whole tribes if they are in the need of money will give blood donations as this is considered to be their greatest resource – their blood and genetic material. Even giving a hair can be somewhat of a laborious process as normal itsasoans don’t like to give their genetic material to anyone but their immediate family. The rim dwellers are finding that their genetic material in the centuries that they have lived above is starting to decline so they have been looking below at the ample supply of healthy beings to strengthen their bloodlines. But such an alliance is not readily come by as men and women will not easily leave the ice without a fight.
