Tick-Tocker

Since time is irrelevant in a world run by gods that work purely for their own amusement - a steady, reliable indicator of when any given person is, is a terrible idea in most points of the world because it's simply impossible to hold true. Most sapients follow in the tracks of the species and simply sleep when it happens to be dark - regardless of when that is - and do what they must when it is not-dark.   However, a recently popular phenomenon has sprung about known as the Tick-Tocker; a simple machine that counts instances to a given number of them. Since the idea of time is fake, the Tick-Tocker is less of a true 'clock' and more-so a long-term timer. They may haver certain timers synced to each other for teamwork, maintain multiple looping instance timers, and with enough stability and provided knowledge of its users sleeping and waking cycles, determine an approximate concept of a 'day'.

These do tend to vary wildly between users, but there is an attempt being made to give sapients some idea of stability.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The tick-tocker is pretty simple; it doesn't have a face, or any real indicator beyond a basic 0-9 counter. It's wound back, raising the counter; this is used to indicate the instants that should pass. Once the key is pressed, the tick-tocker starts ticking. Internally, a simple spring clicks for every instant that passes. To count ten instances, the key is pulled instead, increasing the length of the clicking spring.   For anything greater than ten counts of ten, a larger tick-tocker than standard may be needed.

History

Getting anything done or seeing one another when the world flickers between seasons, daylight, midnight, and in certain locations states of being, tends to make organization difficult. Thus was the thinking behind the creators of the then-known "Organizer" - since renamed to the Tick-Tocker for the sound it makes, despite the creators' best efforts to prevent it - that led them to collectively live together in order to make this simple little device. They have since refused to ever expand upon it - since it's not broken they won't fix it - and also are no longer speaking with each other.
They insist these two things are coincidence and unrelated.

Significance

Arguably one of the most revolutionary creations since the inception of 'civilization' in Tkiwiogretreenlh, the Tick-Tocker for the first time in recognized history - and potentially unrecognized history - has allowed a form of consistency to the world and the peoples therein. Cheap, globally spread, and relatively easy to manufacture and use, the Tick-Tocker has revolutionized cooperation and group management, as well as any time sensitive action - in as much as anything can be considered time sensitive in this world.
