Lieutenant Colonel Akami Tanaka (a.k.a. Sonic)
Former idol and singer, she was performing on the planet Europa when the Xenos first attacked the planet of Lascilla. She saw the reports and death tolls, which made her question what she is doing for the greater good. She then saw an ad for the Lancer Initiative and applied to enter it. She was laughed at, however, and was immediately rejected due to her current profession and the lack of experience related to the program. She was stubborn, however, and tried to find a way to enter the program.
One day, she was arguing with another Union officer when suddenly, a large piece of signage accidentally fell on top of them. Due to her quick reflexes, he was able to grab the officer and pull him away from the falling debris. Luckily, no one else got hurt, but she only got some minor bruises. At the same time, then Lieutenant Commander Williams saw the whole scenario and was impressed by her actions. She gave her a recommendation, making her enter the program successfully.
Once in there, she used her quick reflexes as a dancer and incorporated those movements into her training, eventually speeding through every test and examination. She graduated with flying colors and was given the code name "Sonic" due to her speed. This is also reflected in her chosen frame, a Barbarossa, normally used for artillery and support fire due to its impeding movements. Due to her skills and customizations, however, she was able to make it so that her mech, Bob, can move to her enemies easily and quickly dispatch them with her chosen weapons. She was eventually assigned under Commander Williams of on Kepler 22-B, and was eventually promoted higher in their rankings.

Tries to help out as much as she can. With her mech, Bob, she tries to finish off enemies as quickly as possible to stop them from hurting her allies. Otherwise, she just tries to block as much as damage as she can.
She was a famous idol who left the scene abruptly during her peak to become a Lancer. No one actually knows why she actually stopped being an idol, but her followers are still supporting her as much as they can. For the general public however, her friends helped her mask her identity so no one knows who she is unless they were a die hard fan of hers or a friend from before.
