Life, Death
Do-Yu Ashawa, Yu-Mai's father, is assassinated by Gurbazi assassins.
Assassins hired by the king of Gurbaz kill Do-Yu Ashawa in order to weaken Bashur so that he can send his navy to attack Shuban, Bashur's ally. He needed to do this because Shuban weaker navy is backed by Bashur's strong navy and the two states have tight control over the gulf of Shuban. The elite Gurbazi navy can defeat the Shubanese navy with just slight difficulty but it isn't a match for Bashur's even more elite navy. By assassinating Do-Yu Ashawa, whether or not his daughter is capable doesn't really matter because the assassination will cause a delay of the Bashurian navy at the very least. Do-Yu Ashawa was shot in the head in the throne room by one of the assassins who successfully snuck a crossbow into the throne room. He was caught while trying to escape and he committed suicide in his holding cell before his trial began.
