Epic of Sun-Ra Khagan I

There was a man his name was Sun-Ra,   he was born to a lesser tribe.   Back then when the Guntartars fought,   they weren't united and fought an endless war.   The cheif, Sun-Ra's father died in a raid,   and on the shoulder of Sun-Ra the cheif's mantel was laid.   Things went well and he also got married,   his small tribe was unbothered for three years.   Then one night, a stronger chieftain came,   and he stole his wife right from his bed.   A month later, in the dead of night,   Sun-Ra rode the plains like the lightning bright.   He brought four warriors with arms strong,   with fast horses and recurve bows strung.   They quickly swept through the entire tribe,   they killed every fighting man they could hope to find.   They burnt the tents,   they took all they could take.   Sun-Ra retrieved his wife,   and with his men he ran.   Eight months later,   she gave birth to a boy.   His father was unknown,   but Sun-Ra claimed him his own.   As years passed, he became a khan,   many tribes joined the young Sun-Ra Khan.   As more years passed, he united all the tribes,   the endless war was a thing of the past.   He spoke many laws and founded a city,   the city of Sun-Ra for his wealth vast as the sea.   He conquered great cities that laid in there the steppe,   among them Pali, Chatal and Tarket.   He brought a single word of peace,   accept him as your ruler or be ceased.   Some cities, like Chatal and Pali,   believed his word and surrendered in peace.   Other cities, like Hotor and Tarket,   didn't take his words and sealed their fate.   He raised the black banner of the khagan,   and raised these cities right to the ground.   They killed every man,   they took everything dear.   Lovely women and jewels,   slaves, weapons and beer.   Then, one day,   Sun-Ra fell off his horse.   The life of Sun-Ra Khagan finished it's course.

This epic was composed and passed down orally through many, many Guntartar bards. It was sung with a particular tune that had a rhythm and pace that reset and repeated every two lines (there are some exceptions).   The epic tells us about the great Sun-Ra Khagan I who lived in the 9th century B.B and was the first man who successfully united all the Guntartar tribes. He brought every power he encountered to it's knees and was responsible for wiping many cities and a few peoples off the map and starting the Guntartar cycle.   The Guntartar Cycle:

"Long divided, must unite. Long united, must divide."
Once in a few centuries someone unites all the 200 or so tribes and creates a khaganate (and becomes the khagan himself). After it prospers for a few decades it begins to decline for about a century before it ceases to exist and the tribal anarchy returns.
