Antimatter is used as a powerful explosive ; when in contact with matter, antimatter releases ridiculous amounts of power, which makes it very destructive. Is it used in bullets, bombs, grenades, missiles and other not-so-kind things.

Utility

Antimatter releases a lot of energy when it comes in contact with matter. This effect is very effective when it comes to weapons ; artillery and missiles that use it are pretty common, but not often used, as these weapons are almost as dangerous for the user than for the target !

Inventor(s)

Saan Totloq-Otliyu is a Toropean physician. In 4172, after years of work, he finally succeeded ; he had made the most powerful, but also the most dangerous weapon ever discovered yet, except for the case of atomic bombs.

Access & Availability

An antimatter bomb isn't something anyone can make in their hangar, if you see what I mean. It needs extreme precaution, and is only used by governments/experts, and it's extremely costly to make.

Complexity

Mastering this technology requires the use of powerful electromagnetic fields and solid tubes, empty of any air (which is matter).
