Anatomy

Grows plates of chitin from its abdomen. These plates help to keep it from getting crushed under the weight of a large, unsuspecting animal. The females are venomous enough to kill a squirrel.

It prefers tropical places. The heat and humidity attracts other bugs.

A grasshopper can feed an individual armored spider for a month.

The females fiercely protect their young. If a bird lands within two yards of her eggs, she will bite it in the foot.
