Basic Information
Anatomy
Fingertips to wrist when resting, four legs and two wings. Has an almost beak like snout, completed with a set of horns varying with individuals (kind of like wisdom teeth.)
Genetics and Reproduction
Gestation period 28-34 days. The females are infertile from mid summer to mid spring. They lay 1-5 eggs per clutch, and it takes 41-48 days for the eggs to hatch. The mother often guards her eggs fiercely, while the father normally sticks around but will rarely fight a potentially dangerous battle to protect the eggs from a predator. The young are helpless and depend on their parents for the first twelve days of their lives. If the mother is alone, she will rarely leave the nest to find food until her young can find food on their own. The young tend to stay around their parents for the first five years of their lives.
