Hi there, hope all is well,   I have encountered an issue that is making it almost impossible to use the platform. Every time the autosave feature fires off, the whole page freezes, and for about 5 seconds at a time, or even longer. It is hair-pullingly frustrating, and interrupts the flow of things very seriously.   I have gotten onto Discord to try to remedy the situation to no avail; every step has been taken that was suggested to me and it is still happening. Even when I turn the feature "off", it still autosaves whenever "[" is pressed. Do I have too many articles or something? Please help, it is taking me forever to get anything accomplished on the platform

Steps to Reproduce

All I have to do is pause my typing for a moment, and I am no real typist. I wind up having to wait 5 or more seconds before I can continue, and it happens 15 or 16 times a minute.

Operating System

Windows

Browser

Google Chrome

Editor; autosave freezes the entire platform for a few seconds and fires off all the time.

We have tried to reproduce this issue and we cannot, the only possible reason it's happening to you is your machine is very old and cannot handle the very big ammount of articles you might have

  • I can suggest turning off the Autosave from Account --> Features
  • Occationaly using the collapse all in the 3-dot menu on the articles sidebar which will unload all articles inside categories making it lighter for your machine
  • using list mode instead of tree if all else fails
  • If following all these steps is still causing problems please reply to this report again. Until then we are closing it.

Hi, I would agree with the "old machine" thing if I was having a problem literally anywhere else, and I play some pretty high end games. I will try collapsing the categories and hope that works, there are several thousand articles in there...what are the reccomendations for larger databases? I am not ready to stop using my world as a game setting quite yet, and I am on there every day writing. Thanks for your time, hope you have a nice day!

I don't have any more recommendation other than the 3 I pointed on my previous comment, in general users that had performance issues in the initial release of Athena have stopped reporting them, and if you say you have can play I don't think it's solely a machine issue? Maybe you have an unusual amount of WA tabs open?
